Copyright is always an issue when it comes to using photos from the Internet. Fair use gives us some latitude but there are still limitations.
Pics4Learning addresses these issues by providing photos that are submitted by users in the field. Because the images are supplied, in many cases, by classroom teachers, the content reflects curriculum topics that are relevant to most classrooms.
Here is how Pics4Learning describes their tool -
Pics4Learning is a copyright-friendly image library for teachers and students. The Pics4Learning collection consists of thousands of images that have been donated by students, teachers, and amateur photographers. Unlike many Internet sites, permission has been granted for teachers and students to use all of the images donated to the Pics4Learning collection.
